Standing in a supermarket aisle lined wall to wall with nut butters, our founder felt nothing — no story, no soul, no sense of where any of it came from. The jars were full, but the flavour was hollow. That emptiness sent us back to Afghanistan, back to the Hindu Kush valleys where our grandparents knew the names of every almond tree on their land. We didn't go looking for a product. We went looking for something true.

What we found was a living tradition the modern food industry had simply forgotten to look for. Heirloom Kagzi almonds grown from centuries-old rootstock. Wild pistachios splitting open on limestone cliffs at 2,400 metres. Saffron hand-picked from crocus blossoms before the sun rises over Herat. We paired these with sun-dried mulberries, apricots, and pomegranate — fruits that have sweetened Afghan tables since the Silk Road. The result is not a product we invented. It is one we were always meant to bring home.

All of our whole food products are grown in Afghanistan, with stable water supplies and multi-generational family farms and village cooperatives.
Heirloom
Our produce is grown on traditional Afghan family farms. Small scale production means that the products grown pass down through generations as true heirloom crops.
Wild-Grown
Historically available only to the world's most resourceful foragers, Walmond now brings you direct-from-origin white mulberries, pistachios and licorice; whose size, flavour or appearance have not been modified in any way.
Nutrient-Dense
Naturally rich in nutrients but relatively low in calories, Walmond products are loaded with Fiber, Vitamins and minerals, with no added ingredients other than pure Afghan salt in our roasted nuts.
No Additives / No Pesticides
Walmond's products are grown without the use of chemical pesticides and contain no additives or preservatives of any kind, including sulfites. Afghan dried fruit and nuts don't need to cut corners to be world-class.
